I always have the camera handy around the house and have lots of birds pictures..in fact, I think they are almost as many as I have of the kids!  Here are  few of my favorites that I have picked out to share.

My budgies get a diet of seed, millet and fresh veggies daily. They love parsely, cilantro, spinach, napa cabbage and celery.  I do a lot of canning in the late summer and this year canned carrots. I wondered if the budgies would like to eat the tops, so I hung some in the cage. To my suprise they started to eat them immediately! 

One change I made to the cage since I first got it is that I have taken out the wooden dowel perches and replaced them with branches from our woods. The birds love to pick and chew at them and it gives the cage a "realistic" feel to them.  I have a bunch of them all over...lots of places for the birds to climb, hide and chew!

Holding a newly hatched chick (this pic is about a week old chick) in my hand was one of the most awe inspiring events in my life. So tiny, so full of life.
